Disabled parking zones are spaces designated to ensure the safe movement and accessibility of individuals with mobility impairments, making strict adherence to the parking boundaries essential. Recently, there has been an increase in both inquiries and violations regarding fines based on the extent of parking line encroachment. In response, the city will present case-based guidelines on parking line violations to help citizens easily understand the criteria.

According to the city, if a vehicle crosses the parking center line by less than half, no fine will be imposed, even if part of the vehicle is on the line. However, if more than half of the vehicle crosses the center line, it will be considered a parking line violation, and a warning will be issued for the first offense only. If a vehicle clearly crosses the designated parking boundary and encroaches in any part into the disabled parking zone, a fine of 100,000 won will be imposed in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

A Paju City official emphasized, "A disabled parking zone is not simply a parking space but a protected right that must be preserved. We urge all citizens to pay close attention to avoid incurring fines due to minor carelessness."

Paju City plans to continue implementing policies to guarantee the mobility rights of persons with disabilities and will strengthen public awareness campaigns, including the distribution of informational materials and on-site promotions, to improve citizens' understanding moving forward.
