On April 28, Taihan Cable announced that it had secured a project to supply high-voltage submarine cables for a solar power generation business in Sinan County, Jeollanam-do. The project aims to transmit electricity produced at the Bigeum Solar Power Plant and the Dogo Floating Solar Power Plant to the Anjwado Substation. Taihan Cable will supply the entire set of materials, including 154-kilovolt (kV) high-voltage submarine cables and connection accessories, to Top Solar Group, which is responsible for the overall EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) of the power plants. The company will also carry out the installation. These submarine cables are grid interconnection facilities that link power networks between island regions.

The most notable aspect of this project is that it is the first to be carried out in collaboration with Taihan Ocean Works, a subsidiary specializing in submarine cable installation that Taihan Cable acquired in July last year. Taihan Cable will manufacture the submarine cables at its Dangjin Submarine Cable Plant 1, while Taihan Ocean Works will handle cable transportation and laying. Through this, Taihan Cable plans to showcase its integrated value chain from production to transportation and installation, presenting its total solution capabilities to the market and amplifying synergy.

Taihan Cable has recently solidified its market position by consecutively securing major projects such as the Yeonggwang Nakwol project. Additionally, the company has been selected as a "Leading Supply Chain Stabilization Operator" in the submarine cable sector under the government's initiative, further expanding its role as a key player in the supply chain.

The company is also accelerating infrastructure investment. Taihan Cable is currently constructing a second submarine cable plant capable of producing 640kV high-voltage direct current (HVDC) submarine cables and is reviewing the acquisition of additional cable-laying vessels to simultaneously expand both production and installation capacity. Through these efforts, Taihan Cable aims to enhance its competitiveness for participation in large-scale domestic and international projects, including the "West Coast Energy Expressway."

A Taihan Cable representative stated, "As this project with Top Solar Group is our first executed in collaboration with our subsidiary, we will focus all our capabilities to ensure its success," adding, "Based on our proven technology and installation expertise, we will continue to strengthen our position as a total solution provider in the global submarine cable market."
