Dong-A Otsuka announced on the 28th that it will launch a new flavor of its fruit carbonated beverage, Demi Soda Plum, next month.
The new product highlights a refreshing taste by combining the unique tartness of plum with smooth carbonation. It contains 12% fruit juice, making it the second highest among existing Demi Soda products after Red Apple, which contains 18%. The Demi Soda lineup includes Apple, Green Grape, Peach, Lemon, and Red Apple flavors.
Demi Soda is a long-standing brand that has been consistently sold since its launch in 1991 under the concept of a "carbonated drink with fruit juice." Even when the idea of "well-being" was unfamiliar, it established itself in the market with products that combine fruit and carbonation. The brand name "Demi Soda" is a combination of "Demi," meaning "half," and "Soda," referring to carbonated water. It conveys the meaning of bringing together the advantages of both juice and carbonated beverages.
Min Jihwan, Demi Soda brand manager, said, "We will continue to expand touchpoints with consumers through a variety of activities, including a concert scheduled for September."
