The LG Sangnok Foundation announced on the 28th that it will host a family invitation event on May 11 at Hwadam Forest in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, under the theme "Three Generations Walking Together on the Hwadam Forest Trail." This event was planned to embody the meaning of Hwadam Forest's name, which translates to "sharing heartfelt conversations." "Hwadam" is also the pen name of the late Chairman Koo Bon-moo, who created the forest.

Hwadam Forest is notable for its fully accessible deck trail with gentle slopes that allow strollers and wheelchairs to travel throughout the area. This program takes advantage of Hwadam Forest's terrain so that families with elderly members or infants, who may have mobility challenges, can comfortably experience the forest via the monorail and deck trail.

Participating families will enjoy a variety of programs in the forest throughout the day. They can visit the "Hwadamchae" exhibition, a multi-cultural space that captures the philosophy and nature of Hwadam Forest, take family photos set against the backdrop of the forest, and enjoy the "Forest Concert" held every hour. Hydrangea pots will also be given out as souvenirs.

The event is open to up to 2,500 three-generation families who register in advance, and there is no participation fee. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis via the online platform "NOL" starting from May 4.

A representative from the LG Sangnok Foundation stated, "Hwadam Forest has always aimed to be more than just a place to appreciate nature-it is a space where people can stay together and connect in nature. We hope this event becomes a time for generations, from grandparents to grandchildren, to walk together, spend time, and create memories."

Meanwhile, the LG Sangnok Foundation, established in 1997 as the first environmental public interest foundation by a major Korean corporation, continues its environmental protection efforts, including the creation of Hwadam Forest, publication of Korea's first illustrated bird and freshwater fish guides, and research and distribution of hibiscus varieties.
