Yongsan District Opens Screen Park Golf Facility at Yongsan 2-ga Public Parking Lot

Yongsan District in Seoul (Mayor Park Heeyoung) announced on the 28th that it held a completion ceremony for 'Yongsan Screen Park Golf Yongsan 2-ga Branch' on the 27th.

The Yongsan 2-ga Branch is a facility that has transformed the interior of the Yongsan 2-ga-dong mechanical public parking lot (74, Sinhyeongno 2-gil) into a space where residents can enjoy sports activities. By utilizing an existing structure rather than securing a separate large-scale site, the district has been praised for maximizing space efficiency.

The location, close to residential areas, is also a major advantage. The facility has been designed so that residents can easily participate in sports activities in their daily lives without traveling far. Inside, there are park golf bays and a relaxation area, and the space is equipped with heating and cooling systems, ensuring comfortable use regardless of the season or weather.

The district has steadily expanded sports facilities utilizing idle urban spaces. According to the district, the recent increase in interest in health management and leisure activities, especially among middle-aged and older adults, has led to the expansion of park golf courses.

With the opening of the Yongsan 2-ga Branch, the district now operates a total of three park golf facilities in the area, including the 'Yongmun Park Golf Putting Practice Center' and the 'Yongsan Screen Park Golf Samgakji Branch.' With both indoor and outdoor spaces available, residents can enjoy golf regardless of the weather.

The Yongsan 2-ga Branch can be reserved through the Yongsan District Public Sports Facility Integrated Reservation website. Official operations will begin in early May. For inquiries, contact the Yongsan District Culture and Sports Center at 02-707-2492.

Park Heeyoung, Mayor of Yongsan District, stated, "We have created an environment where residents can naturally enjoy sports activities close to their daily lives," and added, "We will continue to expand practical facilities to improve residents' quality of life."
