Citizen Survey to Select "Jjamppong Road: Siheung Top 10 Jjamppong"

Vote by May 25... First 100 Participants Receive "Siru" Local Currency

Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province is conducting a citizen survey to select the "Jjamppong Road: Siheung Top 10 Jjamppong" from April 27 to May 25, with the aim of revitalizing the local commercial districts and fostering a specialized food brand.

This initiative is part of Gyeonggi Province's project to create commerce-friendly urban environments, aiming to discover a signature food brand that reflects local characteristics and to boost the local economy through systematic promotion and marketing efforts.


As of December 2025, there are about 310 Chinese restaurants in Siheung. These establishments have been gaining recognition among citizens and Jjamppong enthusiasts through word of mouth. The city is launching this project to have citizens directly select hidden Jjamppong hotspots throughout Siheung and to establish a new culinary brand for the city.


To participate in the survey, residents can recommend three of their favorite Jjamppong restaurants in Siheung using a Naver Form. The first 100 participants will each receive 5,000 won in "Siru," the local currency, to be distributed in June.


Based on the survey results, Siheung City will announce the "Siheung Top 10 Jjamppong" restaurants in June. Selected restaurants will receive a certification plaque and various follow-up support, including both online and offline promotional assistance. In addition, the city plans to strengthen experiential content by linking with programs such as the "Siheung Jjamppong Road Stamp Tour" and the "Jjamppong Road Pilgrimage Tasting Team," actively working to further revitalize local commercial districts.


Jung Hogi, Director of Economic Affairs, stated, "This citizen survey is meaningful in that it selects a representative food brand for Siheung based on community participation. Starting with Jjamppong, we plan to gradually implement projects to brand local businesses, attract more outside visitors, and build a sustainable foundation for ongoing local economic revitalization."
