The Scent of Flowers and Melodies of Art: '2026 Goyang Arts Festival' Opens at Ilsan Lake Park

The '2026 Goyang Arts Festival,' a local art event that brightens up the spring of Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Donghwan), will be held until May 3 at the special stage and outdoor exhibition booths of the Goyang International Flower Exhibition.

This arts festival, hosted by the Goyang Federation of Artistic and Cultural Organizations and organized by its affiliated associations, was prepared to offer visitors and tourists to the Goyang International Flower Exhibition a rich array of sights and experiences.

The Goyang Arts Festival is designed as a comprehensive arts festival, encompassing all fields from visual arts such as photography and literature to performing arts including Korean traditional music, classical music, dance, and theater.

First, the exhibition and hands-on programs, which are available every day until May 3, can be enjoyed at the outdoor exhibition booths of the Goyang International Flower Exhibition from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Photographers Association will present the "Four Seasons of Goyang" photo exhibition, also providing a free photo printing service for visitors. In addition, the Writers Association will hold a poetry and painting exhibition along with a "three-line poem writing experience" that citizens can participate in, adding to the fun of the festival. Furthermore, various programs for families, such as bookmark making and paper frame crafting experiences operated by the Goyang Federation of Artistic and Cultural Organizations, are also available.

The highlight of the festival, the performance program, will take place over two days on May 2 and 3 at the special (waterside) stage of the Goyang International Flower Exhibition. The event will kick off on the 2nd with the traditional Korean music performance "A Feast of Gugak Amid Spring Flowers," followed by the classical concert "Classics in the Flower Garden" and the band and pop singer performance "Music & Joy," all of which are set to energize the stage.

On the final day of the festival, May 3, a spectacular lineup awaits, including the dance performance "Dance, the Blossoming Day," the family musical "Dreaming Andersen," and vibrant popular music performances featuring pop singers, trot singers, and Mani Band, promising to delight the eyes and ears of citizens.

An official from Goyang City stated, "We hope you fully enjoy the high-quality performances and exhibitions by local artists of Goyang City amidst the beautiful scenery of the flower exhibition."
