Pyeongtaek City Selects Eight Outstanding Proactive Public Officials for First Half of the Year

Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Jung Jang-sun) announced that it held the 1st Proactive Administration Committee on April 24 to select outstanding proactive public officials for the first half of 2026.

To identify exemplary cases of proactive administration that promoted citizens' convenience and local community development, the city collected outstanding cases through an internal call for submissions in March. After conducting a public online review and the deliberation of the Proactive Administration Committee of Pyeongtaek City, a total of eight outstanding public officials (three for excellence and five for encouragement) were selected.

During this evaluation, various outstanding cases that made practical contributions to regional development and the quality of life of Pyeongtaek citizens were chosen, including: securing authority to promote projects through the revision of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport guidelines; the nation's first active removal of illegal window advertisements and related legislative amendments; and the prompt implementation of measures to prevent flooding in the Segyo Underpass.

The selected outstanding proactive public officials will be granted special benefits, such as additional points in personnel evaluations, according to the award grade.

Jung Jang-sun, Mayor of Pyeongtaek City, stated, "To provide citizen-centered administrative services, we will further foster a culture of proactive administration within the public sector and strengthen the innovative capabilities of our staff."
