Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 27th that it had operated a soccer clinic to promote youth sports.
The clinic was held on the 25th at the Baekseok Life Sports Park, with more than 100 youth players and parents participating. Kim Eun-jung, a former national team coach and Yangju City’s ambassador, participated as a volunteer, and the event was organized through a business agreement among Yangju City, Yangju Urban Corporation, and the Kim Eun-jung Soccer Academy.
The program was divided into lower and upper grade groups, taking into account the physical development level of the participants. Key activities included soccer-specific stretching, agility training, ball control and other fundamental skills training, as well as mini-games and penalty shootouts.
The clinic was extended by 30 minutes beyond the scheduled time on the day of the event.
An official from Yangju City stated, “The program was conducted as an experiential program that combined fundamental skills and practical training for youth,” adding, “Participant engagement was high.”
Coach Kim Eun-jung said, “Training was conducted while considering the different skill levels of each participant,” and added, “Based on the results of this session, we plan to offer additional customized programs in May.”
Meanwhile, Yangju City plans to operate two additional youth soccer clinics in May, and will announce the June schedule separately.
