Gwangju Urban Corporation has conducted a joint safety inspection involving both its management and external experts at Ssangchon Permanent Rental Housing in Seo-gu, Gwangju, which was completed 35 years ago.
On the morning of the 27th, Gwangju Urban Corporation announced that it had carried out an “Executive Joint Intensive Safety Inspection” at Ssangchon Permanent Rental Housing, with participation from both its executives and private external experts. Ssangchon Permanent Rental Housing, built in 1991, is an aging facility where 500 households currently reside in three buildings.
This inspection was organized to proactively identify and address potential hazards at key sites managed by the corporation, in alignment with the national intensive safety inspection period. Attendees included key executives such as Baek Nam-in, Head of the Business Division, as well as the Head of Disaster Safety, the Head of Residential Welfare, two architects, two fire safety managers, and one electrical engineer, all participating as external experts.
The inspection team utilized thermal imaging cameras, insulation resistance testers, and digital levels to conduct a thorough review of all areas, from the structural safety of the buildings to electrical, fire safety, gas, and elevator systems. The corporation stated that it would implement follow-up safety measures by linking the inspection results to improvement plans and strengthen the overall safety management system through communication with on-site staff.
A corporation representative stated, “We will focus on disaster prevention by having management directly inspect the sites, practicing responsible management,” and added, “We will concentrate our efforts on creating a residential environment where tenants can feel safe and secure.”
