LG Innotek achieved its highest-ever quarterly sales in the first quarter of this year. This result was driven by robust demand for mobile camera modules and strong supply of high-value semiconductor substrates, despite the seasonal off-season.
On April 27, LG Innotek announced that its operating profit for the first quarter of 2026 was provisionally tallied at 295.3 billion won. This figure represents a 136% increase compared to the same period last year. Revenue also rose by 11.1% year-on-year to 5.5348 trillion won, marking the highest first-quarter result in the company’s history.
A company representative explained, "Despite the seasonal off-season, demand for mobile camera modules remained strong," adding, "Supply of high-value semiconductor substrates such as RF-SiP (Radio Frequency System in Package), FC-CSP (Flip Chip Chip Scale Package), and FC-BGA (Flip Chip Ball Grid Array) continues to be robust." The representative further stated, "Mobility components such as vehicle camera and lighting modules also continued to grow steadily, contributing to the expansion of sales."
LG Innotek plans to strengthen its portfolio of high-profit businesses this year. In particular, the company is focusing on expanding its business centered on package solution operations, which offer high profitability and growth potential.
Keun-Kook Kyung, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of LG Innotek, said, "We are working to expand semiconductor substrate capacity in response to surging demand amid the semiconductor boom," and added, "We aim to elevate the operating profit contribution of the package solution business to the level of our optical solution operations within five years."
In addition, LG Innotek is accelerating the expansion of its physical AI business, including autonomous driving and robotics, by leveraging its integrated sensing modules, which encompass vehicle cameras, LiDAR, and radar.
The optical solution business posted sales of 4.6106 trillion won, up 11.4% from the same period last year, while the package solution business recorded sales of 437.1 billion won, a 16% increase year-on-year.
The mobility solution business posted sales of 487.1 billion won, up 4.2% year-on-year. As of the end of last year, the mobility solution division had an order backlog of 19.2 trillion won and plans to aggressively expand new orders this year, led by autonomous driving solutions.
Last month, President Moon Hyuksu said, "With sales of automotive AP modules set to begin in earnest from the fourth quarter, the mobility solution business will continue its growth trajectory."
