Damyang County will offer discounts through the public delivery app 'Meokkaebi' to commemorate the 25th Damyang Bamboo Festival, which will be held from May 1 to May 5.
On April 27, Damyang County in Jeonnam announced that it will conduct a special discount event on the public delivery app 'Meokkaebi' to ensure the successful hosting of the 25th Damyang Bamboo Festival and to ease the business burdens of local small business owners.
This event is intended to promote the use of the public delivery app, support small business owners who struggle with high delivery platform fees, and provide benefits to consumers, thereby revitalizing the local economy.
The discount event will begin on May 1 and last until the budget is exhausted. A total of 980 Meokkaebi users in the county will receive a 3,000 won discount coupon on a first-come, first-served basis.
The coupon can be used once per day for orders over 12,000 won and each person can use the discount up to four times during the event period.
A Damyang County official stated, "We hope that both tourists and residents visiting Damyang during the Bamboo Festival will enjoy local cuisine at lower prices through Meokkaebi," adding, "We expect this form of ethical consumption, which reduces commission burdens, to provide real support to local businesses in the community."
Meanwhile, the Damyang Bamboo Festival is one of Jeonnam's representative spring festivals. The county plans to implement various related policies during the festival period to further stimulate local consumption, in addition to the delivery app discount event.
