The 2nd Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Sports Competition for the Disabled concluded its three-day journey with a closing ceremony held at the Gongcheonpo Training Center on the afternoon of April 26, 2026. The event brought together 2,000 athletes competing in 24 sports, leaving behind a legacy of new records and stories of unity.

This year's competition saw remarkable achievements in both athletics and swimming. In the athletics discus event, Lee Jongheon set a new record, while Bae Minjun in swimming claimed two titles along with a new competition record, earning the honor of Most Valuable Player (MVP). Han Garam, Cho Hoonbeom, and Song Yoona also showcased their skills by winning multiple events.


At the awards ceremony, Bae Minjun (swimming) received the top prize, while Yeo Jeonga (Jeju City), Han Garam (Seogwipo City), and Kim Yeji (student division) each received the Outstanding Athlete Award. The Best Overcoming Award, given for sportsmanship in the face of adversity, went to Kim Seongbin of bowling. The Disabled Football Association and the Shulun Association received the Promotion Award and the Unity Award, respectively, adding further meaning to the event.


Kim Aesook, Vice Governor for Political Affairs, encouraged the athletes by saying, "The sweat and effort shown by the athletes at this competition will serve as a solid foundation for the future of sports for people with disabilities in Jeju." The event concluded successfully with the competition flag being handed over to Jeju City, the host for next year.
