The Gyeonggi Province Fire and Disaster Headquarters has officially launched "119 Medic One."
On April 24, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters held the inauguration ceremony for the "119 Medic One Ambulance Team" at the Regional Trauma Center of Ajou University Hospital, marking the start of full-scale operations to improve the survival rate of patients with severe trauma.
The "119 Medic One Ambulance Team" is a response system in which a trauma specialist rides along in the ambulance and provides immediate, expert treatment at the scene. This system shifts the focus from simply transporting patients to initiating treatment on site.

In particular, it maintains a 24-hour all-time dispatch system targeting the southern region of Gyeonggi Province, enabling the start of treatment to be advanced by providing expert care on site while simultaneously coordinating transport and linkage with the regional trauma center.
Choi Yongcheol, Acting Head of the Gyeonggi Province Fire and Disaster Headquarters, stated, "The 119 Medic One Ambulance Team is an innovative attempt to bring specialized treatment, previously available only in hospitals, directly to the scene of an accident. We will do our utmost to ensure that the control center, the field, and the hospital function as a unified system to protect the precious lives of our residents and guarantee their 'ordinary days.'"
