Busan National University to Host 'PNU Open Campus'... Supporting Customized Career Planning for High School Students

Increase in Students from Seoul Metropolitan Area, Enhanced Competitiveness

One-Stop Access to Major Experiences and Counseling

Due to the government's national balanced development policy and the expansion of support for key national universities, Busan National University is attracting significantly more students from the Seoul metropolitan area for the 2026 admissions cycle. As a result, both early and regular admission cut-off scores are rising, reflecting growing national attention and competitiveness.

Against this backdrop, Busan National University will host the 'PNU Open Campus' on May 9, 2026, starting at 10:30 a.m. on the first floor of Exhibition Hall 2 at BEXCO. The event is designed to help high school students plan their academic and career paths by allowing them to experience a variety of academic majors firsthand.

This event aims to provide high school students with accurate information about each major (department) at Busan National University, offering practical support for their career decisions. At the venue, students can participate in hands-on major experiences, experiments, exhibitions, and counseling programs, with interactive content tailored to their level. The event is open only to those who register in advance.

Busan National University plans to introduce a wide range of majors in a comprehensive manner, spanning foundational studies in the humanities, social sciences, and STEM fields, as well as advanced areas such as the Department of Semiconductor Engineering and Department of Artificial Intelligence. The event will also showcase the School of Advanced Convergence Studies, the School of Liberal Studies, and industry-contracted departments such as the Smart Home Appliance Engineering Department, which is linked to recruitment at LG Electronics. Through this, students will be able to directly explore the curriculum and career pathways in their areas of interest and develop more concrete academic plans.

The department experience center is open to all pre-registered participants without a separate quota, and applications can be submitted via the Busan National University admissions website.

This event is a collaboration between the Busan National University Office of Admissions and the RISE Busan Shared University Headquarters. By mobilizing internal resources, Busan National University aims to provide students with broad opportunities for career planning and to contribute to the successful implementation of the high school credit system.
