The Pinkfong Company announced on the 27th that "Bebepin The Movie: The Lost Bebepin and Pinkfong Adventure" will be released in Japan. The film is set to premiere on more than 100 screens on September 4.
This marks The Pinkfong Company's first theatrical release in Japan. Local distribution will be handled by Kadokawa, a comprehensive Japanese entertainment company.
"Bebepin The Movie" was released in Korea in July last year, attracting a cumulative audience of 220,000. Since then, it has been screened in eleven countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia, and Taiwan.
The franchise already enjoys a high level of recognition in Japan. The original Bebepin series aired on Japan's terrestrial broadcaster TBS in October last year. In December, the "Bebepin Mother Goose Pad" ranked first in the music toys and piano keyboard instrument category on Amazon Japan, and in February, a pop-up store was held at Namba Marui Department Store in Osaka.
The Pinkfong Company is currently operating Pinkfong pop-up stores in Tokyo and Kanagawa Prefecture in collaboration with Japanese bookstore Tsutaya. The company also plans to participate in "Licensing Japan 2026," a Japanese licensing exhibition scheduled to take place from June 17 to 19.
