On April 27, the CJ Cultural Foundation announced the winners of its support programs for indie musicians, "Tune-Up," and for musical creators, "Stage-Up."
The final winning teams of the Tune-Up 27th class, which saw a competition rate of 148 to 1, are Lidoor, New Humanity, Oysters, Joo Hyerin, Can't Be Blue, and Peach Truck Hijackers. They will receive up to 25 million won in album production funding (for up to two albums within two years), customized support according to concert scale, global tour support, and the opportunity to appear on the YouTube show "Azit Live."
The Stage-Up winners are four teams: "ASH" (Seok Hyemi and Kang Soyeon), "The Bry" (Kim Jooyeon, Kim Kyunam, and Jo Yeo-jin), "Topana" (Lim Sangjoon and Lee Goeun), and "Carpenter" (Kim Jihwan and Kim Chiyoung). They will be granted 10 million won in creative funding, matched with dedicated producers, receive expert-tailored consulting, and have the opportunity to produce two readings. If they successfully sign a main performance contract with a production company, they will receive additional follow-up funding, and if they advance overseas, creators will be awarded encouragement grants.
The results for the short film production support selection under "Story-Up," a program supporting emerging film creators, will be announced on June 2.
