The Shin Young Kyun Arts & Culture Foundation recently held a board meeting, appointing Shin Eon-sik, Chairman of JIBS, as the new chairman, and bringing actor Lee Jungjae on board as a new director. The chairman position had been vacant since the passing of former chairman Ahn Sung-ki in January.
Chairman Shin had previously supported the foundation's operations as a board member. He stated, "I will do my best to carry on the legacy of Chairman Ahn Sung-ki by expanding support programs for artists and creating a healthy arts ecosystem."
Lee Jungjae expressed, "I feel both a sense of responsibility and fulfillment in being able to serve in the support program for nurturing artistic talent, honoring the will of senior Ahn Sung-ki." In January, Lee Jungjae carried the portrait of the late former chairman Ahn Sung-ki and saw him off on his final journey.
A foundation official said, "We will continue to steadily carry out our support and development program for young talents in film, theater, and other arts, which has been implemented for 16 years."
