Nexen Tire to Supply Original Equipment Tires for Jeep "Cherokee"

Nexen Tire announced on April 27 that it will supply original equipment (OE) tires for Jeep's SUV, the "2026 Cherokee," which is set to launch in North America under the Stellantis brand.

The Jeep Cherokee is the brand's first vehicle equipped with a full hybrid system. It boasts fuel efficiency that allows it to travel more than 500 miles (approximately 800 kilometers) on a single tank of gas.

The tire being supplied, the Roadian GTX, is specifically designed for SUVs and CUVs. It excels in braking, snow performance, and wear resistance, while also offering a balanced combination of quietness and ride comfort. In particular, it features a compound that remains stable under temperature changes, providing reliable braking performance in both summer heat and winter's low temperatures.

Additionally, a zigzag pattern design has been applied to distribute ground pressure and minimize sudden swaying. By enhancing mileage performance, it delivers both the stability and efficiency required by hybrid SUVs.

The Roadian GTX has recently proven its quality by being fitted to a variety of SUVs and electric vehicles, including the Kia EV5, EV6, and Renault Filante. Nexen Tire is further strengthening its partnership with Stellantis Group by expanding its supply beyond major models such as the Jeep Wrangler to include this hybrid model.

A Nexen Tire representative stated, "Supplying original equipment tires for Jeep's first hybrid SUV in the North American market is further proof of our competitiveness in the future mobility sector," adding, "We will continue to strengthen our supply to global automakers through ongoing research and development and robust partnerships."
