2,034 Gyeonggi Happy Housing Units to Be Supplied in 17 Cities and Counties... Applications Open May 4-8

Gyeonggi Province will supply a total of 2,034 Gyeonggi Happy Housing units across 17 cities and counties.

On April 27, Gyeonggi Province and Gyeonggi Housing & Urban Development Corporation (GH) announced that from May 4 to May 8, they will be accepting applications from prospective tenants for Gyeonggi Happy Housing units. The recruitment is aimed at housing-vulnerable groups such as young people and newlyweds who wish to move into these units in the province.

This recruitment will cover 28 Gyeonggi Happy Housing complexes in 17 cities and counties within the province, including Hwaseong, Namyangju, Pyeongtaek, Suwon, Yeoncheon, Gwangju, Seongnam, and Yongin, offering a total of 2,034 units. Various groups are eligible to apply, including young people, newlyweds, the elderly, recipients of housing benefits, and young people preparing for independent living.

Gyeonggi Happy Housing is a type of public rental housing offered at affordable rents set at 60% to 80% of the local market rate. It targets younger generations, such as young people, university students, and newlyweds, as well as vulnerable groups such as the elderly and housing benefit recipients, to ensure residential stability.

Eligible applicants are, as of the notice date, members of households without home ownership, including young people (aged 19 to 39), newlyweds, and the elderly. In particular, young people preparing for independent living (within five years of leaving care) may receive housing cost support, which is expected to help them establish a stable foundation for independence.

Applications can be submitted online through the GH Housing Subscription Center (https://apply.gh.or.kr). Successful applicants will be announced and qualifications verified, after which eligible tenants will be finalized approximately three months later. Move-ins will begin sequentially from the end of August. For further details, applicants can contact the regional rental centers.

Kim Tae-su, Director of Housing Policy at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Through this recruitment of prospective tenants, we will actively support the residential stability of young people and those preparing for independence," adding, "We will continue to expand the supply of public housing to alleviate the housing cost burden for residents and help them settle stably."
