The National Heritage Administration and the Korea National Heritage Keepers Association announced on the 27th that they will hold the "First Half National Heritage Preservation Day in My Hometown" event at major national heritage sites across the country until the 22nd of next month.
This is a National Heritage Keeper activity, in which local residents take the initiative to care for and maintain national heritage sites in their communities. The program is operated with lottery funds.
This year, more than 1,400 people from National Heritage Keeper regional centers and local organizations will participate, carrying out activities such as environmental clean-up, preservation management, hands-on experiences, and site inspections.
The activity locations for the regional centers include Gyeonghuigung, Hwaseong Haenggung in Suwon, Munui Cultural Heritage Complex, Godae-do in Boryeong, and Bongso-ru in Daejeon.
In addition, local organizations will voluntarily participate at sites such as Sungkyunkwan in Seoul, Haeunjeong in Gangneung, Joyang-dong Historic Site in Sokcho, Muyangseowon in Gwangju, Hwanggangseowon in Jeonju, Jaegandang in Namwon, and Munseom in Jeju.
