Putin Thanks North Korean Soldiers for Participation in Kursk... "Pays Tribute to Fallen Heroes"

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his gratitude to North Korean soldiers who participated in the battle in Russia's Kursk region, according to a report by TASS news agency on April 26 (local time).

The news agency reported that Putin made these remarks in a congratulatory message marking the opening of the 'Overseas Military Operations Heroes Memorial Complex and Military Heroes Museum' held in Pyongyang on the same day.

In his message, Putin said, "I sincerely thank the brave soldiers of Korea (North Korea) who took part in the battles in the Kursk region, and I wish to pay tribute to the fallen heroes."

North Korea has promoted the construction of a memorial hall to honor the North Korean soldiers dispatched to Kursk, aiming for completion by the first anniversary of the 'Liberation of Kursk.' Russia sent a high-level delegation to the memorial hall's opening ceremony.

During the war with Ukraine, Russia temporarily lost control of Kursk, but officially declared the recovery of the Kursk territory on April 26 last year, following North Korea's intervention.
