Mostly Cloudy Nationwide on Monday... Rain in Seoul Metropolitan Area, Gangwon, and Chungcheong Starting at Night

Atmosphere Remains Extremely Dry in Central and North Gyeongsang Regions
Caution Urged for Forest Fires and Other Hazards

On Monday, the 27th, the entire country is expected to be mostly cloudy, with rain beginning at night in the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon, and Chungcheong regions.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 26th, the central region will remain mostly cloudy on the 27th, while the southern region will be mostly cloudy at times, turning increasingly overcast at night. Jeju Island will be mostly clear, becoming gradually cloudy from nighttime.


From nighttime, rain is expected in the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon Inland and Mountainous areas, and the northern coastal areas of Chungcheongnam-do along the West Sea.


The expected rainfall is 5 to 10 mm in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi, around 5 mm in the five West Sea islands, 5 to 20 mm in Gangwon Inland and Mountainous areas, and less than 5 mm in Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungcheongnam-do.


Even before the rain begins, the country will remain mostly cloudy. In the afternoon, places such as the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon, and the northern coastal areas of Chungcheongnam-do along the West Sea may see traces of rain less than 0.1 mm.


The expected low temperatures range from 6 to 14 degrees Celsius, and the high temperatures from 14 to 27 degrees Celsius.


Major daytime temperatures will be 22 degrees in Seoul, 22 degrees in Wonju, 16 degrees in Gangneung, 23 degrees in Cheongju, 24 degrees in Daejeon, 25 degrees in Jeonju, 24 degrees in Gwangju, 23 degrees in Yeosu, 27 degrees in Daegu, 23 degrees in Busan, and 20 degrees in Jeju.


Fine dust levels nationwide are expected to be in the "moderate" to "good" range.


Ozone concentrations are expected to be "bad" in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, and "moderate" in other regions.


The seas are expected to be relatively calm.


On Tuesday, the 28th, the country will continue to be mostly cloudy, with rain expected in the Seoul metropolitan area, Chungcheong, and Gangwon regions.


The atmosphere will remain extremely dry, especially in the central region and Gyeongbuk, so caution is advised against forest fires and other types of fires.
