More than just a sports event, this competition served as a gathering where nationwide relatives could come together to reflect on their roots and where the youth and young adults took the lead in carrying forward the future of the clan.

Through a variety of games and exchange programs, attendees built friendships and took time to reflect on the clan’s traditions and sense of community in Sunheung, Yeongju, an area imbued with the spirit of scholars.

Kwon Youngchang, President of the Grand Clan Association, said, “Today’s gathering, where relatives from all over the country meet, catch up, and share their hearts, is a great asset for the Andong Kwon Clan. I hope the youth and young adults will take the lead in continuing this culture of unity and respect, passing down the proud spirit of our clan to the next generation.”

This sports competition was especially meaningful as it broadened the scope of interaction among relatives nationwide and strengthened connections between generations. Having the event at Seonbi Sesang, Yeongju’s representative historical and cultural venue, added value by highlighting both traditional culture and the community spirit of the clan.

An official from the Yeongju Youth and Young Adult Association, which hosted the event, remarked, “It was a meaningful time as relatives from all over the country laughed, played, and became one in Yeongju. We will continue to create opportunities to expand communication and unity among clan members in the future.”
