Shinsegae Duty Free has launched a limited-time promotion for customers using Taiwan's mobile payment service, LINE Pay, expanding its range of benefits.
Currently, Shinsegae Duty Free supports LINE Pay payments at all stores in Myeongdong and at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 locations in Incheon International Airport. Taiwanese tourists can conveniently purchase luxury goods, cosmetics, K-beauty products, and souvenirs using their familiar payment method from home, without the need for currency exchange or issuing a new card.
The number of Taiwanese tourists visiting Korea has also shown a noticeable increase. According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, approximately 540,000 Taiwanese tourists visited Korea in the first quarter of this year, representing the highest growth rate among major countries at 37.7%.
This promotion runs from April 24 to May 24. Customers who pay with LINE Pay will receive a basic 10% LINE POINTS reward, with an additional 12% if the payment is linked to a VISA credit card. Furthermore, using a CTBC LINE Pay Card, Union Bank LINE POINTS Card, or SinoPac DAWAY Card adds another 8%, allowing customers to earn up to 30% in points.
A Shinsegae Duty Free representative stated, "Following the introduction of the LINE Pay payment service, we have prepared this promotion to provide more substantial benefits," adding, "We will continue to enhance payment convenience and expand promotions for our global customers in the future."
