Park Hyungjoon, the People Power Party's candidate for Mayor of Busan, announced on April 26 that former Minister of Employment and Labor Moonsoo Kim will be appointed as the honorary chairman of his election campaign committee.

Park's camp stated, "This move demonstrates our determination to protect Busan, which serves as the last bulwark against one-party dominance and soft authoritarianism." They added, "Starting with the appointment of Honorary Chairman Kim, we plan to sequentially announce the formation of a united campaign committee that will bring together not only conservative voters but also moderates and young people."
