Previously, the "road heating cable installation status" data released on the Public Data Portal was available for anyone to use. However, since it was provided only in plain text form, it was difficult to intuitively identify the exact locations and sections on actual roads.

Gwanak District combined publicly available data with internally created blueprint resources for field management. By precisely converting and implementing the text and blueprint data into spatial information on the Seoul Smart Map, anyone can now easily check the specific locations of road heating cables at a glance on the map.

The information provided on the visualization map includes the installation locations and sections of heating cables, their lengths, the number of lanes, and the activation timing. Anyone can check this information at any time by visiting the Gwanak District Office website and navigating through 'Smart Gwanak → Gwanak Map → Road Heating Cable Installation Status.'

The district expects that with this new system, residents will be able to secure safe travel routes to avoid icy roads, and private companies will be able to utilize the data to develop a variety of additional services.

A district official commented, "This visualization of the road heating cable installation status is a result of practical data-driven administration that helps residents easily find safe winter travel routes through an intuitive map," adding, "We will continue to strengthen digital administration utilizing spatial information to enhance both the safety and convenience of our residents."
