The lectures will cover topics such as real estate taxation tailored to redevelopment and reconstruction, understanding Moa Towns and transparent management of steering committees and associations, and the various project implementation stages under the Urban Maintenance Act. Participants who attend at least two out of the three sessions will receive a certificate of completion.
The instructors consist of experts in each respective field. The lectures will be delivered based on real-life cases by Koo Panseo, tax accountant at Cheongsol Tax Corporation; Yang Heechul, attorney at Myeongnyun Law Firm; and Kim Jaeheon, architect at Tomun Architects & Engineers.
The classes are open to all Geumcheon-gu residents and anyone interested in maintenance projects. There is no tuition fee. Each session will accept up to 40 participants on a first-come, first-served basis, and applications will close early if the quota is filled. Applications can be submitted from April 27 to June 5 via phone, online through a QR code, or in person at the Residential Maintenance Division.
Although maintenance projects are directly related to residents’ assets, the laws and procedures involved are complex and not easy to understand. The district office aims to help residents better comprehend the projects and make informed decisions through this educational initiative. The Geumcheon-gu Residential Maintenance Academy has been well received, with 521 people participating across its previous six classes.
A district official stated, "Resident participation and understanding are paramount in residential maintenance projects," adding, "We hope that this academy will enable residents to participate in projects based on accurate information."
