Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly revealed for the first time that he was previously diagnosed with and treated for prostate cancer.
On April 24 (local time), Prime Minister Netanyahu released this information along with his annual health checkup report via X (formerly Twitter).
He stated, "Cancer cells were discovered during a routine examination following surgery for benign prostatic hyperplasia in December 2024," adding, "A malignant tumor, smaller than 1 cm and appearing as a tiny spot, was found to be in a very early stage with no signs of metastasis."
Prime Minister Netanyahu said, "Although the medical team suggested monitoring, I determined that any risk factors, whether on a national or personal level, should be addressed immediately, so I chose targeted treatment." He continued, "The tumor has now been completely removed with no trace left, and all blood tests and physical examinations have come back normal, so I am currently in excellent health."
Regarding the delay in the release of this year's health report, he explained, "I wanted to prevent Iran's terrorist regime from spreading false propaganda aimed at Israel."
Last month, during heightened hostilities with Iran, rumors circulated online that Prime Minister Netanyahu had either died or was suffering from serious health problems.
