LIG Defense & Aerospace announced that, as part of a global project to honor Korean War veterans, it visited veterans in New Zealand and the United States to express gratitude, and also sponsored the event organized by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs inviting United Nations (UN) Korean War veterans and their families to Korea.

In March 2026, LIG Defense & Aerospace met directly with New Zealand veterans and their families to convey their appreciation. In collaboration with veteran record specialist artist Rami (Project-Soldier), the company photographed the veterans and presented them with framed photos and letters expressing gratitude and respect.

During the Korean War, New Zealand deployed about 4,700 troops, participating in operations such as the Incheon Landing Operation, the Battle of Gapyeong, and the Battle of Maryang-san. Many of those who lost their lives are buried at the UN Memorial Cemetery in Busan, and currently, around 100 veterans remain alive.

The veterans expressed their appreciation for Korea’s gratitude. Veteran Daniel Hurley said, “It was a very special opportunity to meet Koreans who traveled such a long distance,” and added, “I wish for Korea's continued prosperity.” Alan Cull also said, “Thank you for your support.”

LIG Defense & Aerospace will also sponsor a luncheon at Lotte World Tower in Seoul, in conjunction with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs' event inviting veterans and their families from four Commonwealth nations (the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand) to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Gapyeong.

In addition, on April 20, 2026, taking the opportunity of participating in the naval defense exhibition 'Sea Air Space 2026' held in Maryland, United States, LIG Defense & Aerospace CEO Shin Ikhyun, together with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the United States, visited a veterans’ nursing home in Washington, D.C. to express gratitude to Korean War veterans.

CEO Shin said, “In commemoration of the company’s 50th anniversary, we wanted to express our gratitude for the noble sacrifice and courage of Korean War veterans both in Korea and abroad who defended the country,” and added, “We will continue to contribute to national security and fulfill our social responsibilities through our defense work.”
