The Iseo-myeon area of Cheongdo County marked the vibrant beginning of spring in 2026 with its first rice planting ceremony and voluntary environmental clean-up activities by local residents.
The Cheongdo County Council, led by Chairman Jeon Jongyul, attended the "First Rice Planting Ceremony in Cheongdo County in 2026" held in Geumchon-ri, Iseo-myeon on the 21st, expressing hopes for a bountiful harvest and increased income for farming households.

원본보기 아이콘Over 100 participants, including Chairman Jeon Jongyul, county council members, the acting Cheongdo County Governor, members of the Korea Rice Farming Association Cheongdo County Chapter, and local residents, took part in the event.
Participants personally demonstrated and experienced the planting of 'Haedam Rice,' an early-maturing variety, sharing a moment of communication as they wished for a disaster-free year and a fruitful harvest.
Chairman Jeon Jongyul stated, "Agriculture is the foundation and most important industry of Cheongdo," adding, "The Cheongdo County Council will continue to provide support to strengthen agricultural competitiveness and improve farm household incomes."

Residents voluntarily worked together to improve the village landscape by removing weeds from the flower beds at the village entrance and collecting household waste from the area.
Munsuri in Iseo-myeon has gained a reputation as a village beautiful in all four seasons thanks to ongoing village improvement projects each year, and such community activities continue to bring warmth and vitality to the local society.
Park Ilbae, head of Iseo-myeon, commented, "Every year, the active participation of villagers in environmental maintenance makes our village beautiful in all four seasons," adding, "I hope visitors will create fond memories when they come."
Cheongdo County plans to use this year’s rice planting and environmental clean-up activities as a starting point to continue listening to the voices of those in the agricultural sector while also making ongoing efforts to create a pleasant local environment.
