People Power Party Nominates Jeong Jangsu, "Hong Joonpyo's Right-Hand Man," as Jung-gu District Head Candidate in Daegu

The Daegu Metropolitan City Party Nomination Management Committee of the People Power Party (Chairperson: Assemblywoman Lee Inseon) held its 13th committee meeting on the 3rd floor of the Daegu City Party office on April 24, and decided on single candidates and primary candidates for basic local government heads in Daegu.

For the head of Jung-gu District in Daegu, the committee nominated Jeong Jangsu, former Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs of Daegu City-often referred to as the "right-hand man of Hong Joonpyo"-as the sole candidate, while incumbent district head Ryu Kyuhwa was cut off from the nomination process.

In addition, for the head of Suseong-gu District in Daegu, a primary will be held among four candidates: current Suseong-gu District head Kim Daekwon, Kim Daehyun (Vice Chair of the Central Training Committee of the People Power Party), former Suseong-gu District head Lee Jinhun, and former floor leader of the People Power Party at the Daegu City Council Jeon Kyungwon.

The primary will be determined based on a combination of valid votes from responsible party members (50%) and a public opinion poll of the general public (50%), conducted from April 28 to April 29.
