According to a statistical analysis by Jeju Fire Headquarters over the past five years (2021-2025), there were a total of 36 fires at construction sites in the province. Of these, 26 cases, or 72%, were caused by negligence during welding or cutting operations. This highlights the urgent need to foster a culture of autonomous safety management among site personnel through on-site safety consulting.

On this day, Chief Park focused on checking the maintenance of temporary fire facilities and whether fire watchers had been assigned. In particular, he inspected whether multilingual safety regulations and safety signs for foreign workers were posted, and instructed the removal of any obstacles from evacuation routes and the strict management of hazardous materials to proactively eliminate fire risks.

Chief Park Jinsoo stated, "Large construction sites contain a lot of combustible materials, which means there is a very high risk of major accidents in the event of a fire." He emphasized, "Construction site managers must do their utmost to prevent safety accidents by providing repeated education and training for on-site workers." Jeju Fire Headquarters plans to continue offering on-site safety guidance targeting large construction sites in the future.
