The area is frequented by many foreign tourists and nearby residents, and is known for its diverse restaurants and unique shops, which are expected to play a positive role in revitalizing the local commercial area.
With this latest designation, Pyeongtaek City has expanded the total number of neighborhood shopping districts and shopping areas to 11, including existing ones. As a result, benefits will be extended to 1,244 stores, and the use of Onnuri gift certificates-linked to consumption demand during Family Month-is expected to contribute to the recovery of the local economy.
Mayor Jeong Jangseon stated, "The designation of the Anjeongri Merchants Association as a neighborhood shopping district will give a boost to the revitalization of the local commercial area. I hope the merchants association will actively participate in public contests and related projects to enhance the competitiveness of the district, and let us work together to help it grow into a vibrant commercial hub."
