Pocheon City Appoints New Urban Planning Committee Members... Strengthening the Foundation for Systematic Urban Development

Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province held the Urban Planning Committee Appointment Ceremony in the city hall's administrative meeting room on April 22, 2026, and presented appointment letters to the newly appointed committee members.

This appointment was carried out to proactively respond to changes in the urban structure and future growth strategies, as well as to enhance expertise and public interest in the field of urban planning.

The Pocheon Urban Planning Committee consists of a total of 20 members. The newly appointed committee members are experts with experience in various fields, including urban planning, civil engineering, disaster prevention, architecture, housing, landscaping, and transportation. Over the next two years, the committee will provide consultation and deliberation on decisions related to Pocheon City's urban management plans and development activity permits, while also discussing the overall direction for the city's development.

Currently, Pocheon City is undergoing a period of transformation in various areas, such as transportation network expansion, changes in the industrial structure, and improvements in residential conditions. In particular, with major projects such as the Education Development Special Zone and the Peace Economy Special Zone underway, the role of the Urban Planning Committee is expanding beyond simple deliberation to a strategic function that designs the city's future value.
