Ansan City announced on the 24th that it had visited Pungdo Island on the 23rd to implement the "Integrated Health Support for Islands" project for island residents who have limited access to hospitals.

This project was designed to enhance medical equity by offering customized medical treatment and preventive care services to residents in island regions who face difficulties accessing hospitals. It is characterized by its integrated approach, providing not only medical treatment but also preventive and daily life support services.

A total of 18 people participated onsite, including 11 professional staff from the public health center, 4 volunteers offering hairdressing and commemorative longevity photo services, and 3 representatives from the Happy Etiquette Center.

The participating staff responded to the needs of local residents by providing general, Korean traditional, and dental medical services, along with dementia screening and infectious disease prevention education. In cases where follow-up was needed based on dementia screening results, residents were guided to receive a secondary examination.

Additionally, programs aimed at promoting emotional well-being and quality of life, such as traditional costume experiences, hairdressing services, and longevity photo sessions, were offered and well received by residents.

Jung Youngran, Director of Danwon Public Health Center, said, "The more difficult it is for residents to access regular medical services, as in island areas, the more important it is to provide visiting health services. We will continue to expand integrated health management services that go beyond treatment to include prevention and care."

Ansan City Launches Medical and Long-term Care Integrated Care Network... Holds Network Meeting

Ansan City announced on the 24th that it had held a network meeting on the 22nd to ensure the stable implementation of the Ansan-Style Integrated Care Project. The meeting was attended by seven partner institutions, including the Ansan branch of the National Health Insurance Service, and twelve service delivery organizations, such as the Gyeonggi Ansan Regional Self-Sufficiency Center.

The integrated medical and long-term care project is a community-based initiative that provides coordinated care services for citizens facing difficulties in daily life due to frailty, disability, illness, or accidents, enabling them to maintain healthy lives in their own homes and communities.

Since 2019, Ansan City has been building a regional care system, starting with the community-based integrated care pilot project. In 2023, the city advanced the "Ansan-Style Integrated Care" model through a pilot project for integrated medical and elderly care support. Last month, following the nationwide implementation of the Integrated Care Support Act on the 27th, the city has been working to accelerate the establishment of a universal care model.

During the meeting, participants shared the direction of the Ansan-Style Integrated Care initiative and discussed institution-specific cooperation plans, as well as strategies for establishing a regionally-based, integrated care system with organic collaboration among medical, welfare, and social economy organizations centered on care recipients.

Lee Kyung Sook, Director of Welfare, stated, "Public-private cooperation is essential to the success of integrated care support policies that address the demands of a super-aged society. We will do our utmost to establish a sustainable care model that reflects the unique characteristics of our community."
