91% of Restaurant Owners Say "AI Will Become Essential for Operations Within 3 Years"

Baemin Academy Launches Free AI Training Program for Restaurant Owners

More than 90% of restaurant owners recognize artificial intelligence (AI) as an essential technology for business operations. However, despite this high level of awareness, the actual usage rate remains low.

On April 24, Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baedal Minjok, announced the results of a survey conducted among 836 Baemin Academy members (respondents). According to the survey, 91.5% of restaurant owners predicted that AI would become an indispensable technology and an efficiency tool for restaurant operations within the next three years. However, only 32.1% responded that they are currently utilizing AI in their store operations. More than half (58.9%) said that if they do not utilize AI, they will fall behind in the competition.

Based on these findings on restaurant owners’ perceptions and usage of AI, Baemin Academy has established an educational roadmap. The first cohort of the free AI education program for restaurant owners, “AI Business School,” which opened enrollment on this day, consists of three levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.

For each stage, practical AI utilization courses that can be immediately applied in the field have been prepared, focusing on six key themes that restaurant owners are most concerned about: ▲promotion and marketing (channel management, content, promotion) and ▲store operations (customer management, menu management, staff management). Through this process, systematic education is provided from basic AI learning to designing automated processes using AI systems.

Kwon Yonggyu, Head of Baemin Academy at Woowa Brothers, said, “We have established a related educational roadmap so that AI can help improve restaurant operation efficiency,” adding, “We hope this program will be a valuable opportunity for restaurant owners who wish to utilize AI as a useful tool.”
