Naver Cloud and HanmiGlobal announced on April 24 that they had signed a strategic business agreement on April 22 for joint participation in global large-scale data center projects, including those in Saudi Arabia.

This agreement was pursued to combine the core competencies of both companies to jointly respond to data center projects in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, and overseas, and to enhance their technological competitiveness in the global market.

Naver Cloud will be responsible for establishing the infrastructure technology direction and strategy, as well as designing business structures and service models that comply with global standards, based on its full-stack capabilities that cover everything from data center construction to cloud and AI services. HanmiGlobal will handle data center design and construction consulting, project management related to schedules and costs, and local licensing and business execution tasks in Saudi Arabia.

Naver Cloud has built a foundation of cooperation centered on digital and AI services by establishing a digital twin construction business and developing a map-based super app through its joint venture, Naver Innovation, with the National Housing Company (NHC) of Saudi Arabia. The company expects that this data center business agreement will expand its business scope into the infrastructure sector and serve as a foundation for becoming a key partner in Saudi Arabia’s long-term digital transformation.

Since entering the Middle East market in 2007, HanmiGlobal has completed more than 50 projects to date.

Yuwon Kim, CEO of Naver Cloud, said, "Naver Cloud has established an operational foundation through the establishment of a local entity and cooperation with major institutions, and HanmiGlobal is a proven partner with a track record of numerous completed projects in the Middle East. Based on this agreement, we will actively respond to the growing demand for digital infrastructure construction in the Middle East and emerging markets."
