Ellis Group Secures Four Patents for AI Portable Modular Data Center

Ellis Group announced on April 24 that it has acquired four core technology patents related to its portable modular data center, the "Ellis AI PMDC (Portable Modular Data Center)."

The newly secured patents comprise four types: ▲ a mobility device for server racks in modular data centers and its operating method ▲ a fire management system for modular data centers and its operating method ▲ an air-cooled cooling system for modular data centers and its operating method ▲ a water-cooled cooling system for server racks and its operating method.

In particular, the fire management system is designed with data protection as the highest priority by analyzing the potential for fire spread based on temperature, smoke, and gas sensor data, and by precisely controlling server operations in conjunction with an uninterruptible power supply (UPS).

To address the greatest challenge in high-density AI server environments-heat dissipation-the company has further advanced both water-cooling and air-cooling technologies. The direct water-cooling method allows for precise thermal control in high-density environments, while the air-cooling system, optimized for modular structures, improves airflow efficiency.

With the acquisition of these patents, Ellis Group has completed a technology portfolio that covers both cooling and safety. These technologies are currently in the design and verification stages, with some already applied to actual infrastructure to accumulate real-time operational data. Ellis Group plans to continually expand the scope of application after further validation in various environments.
