'Health Promotion Schools' are an integrated health management system in which schools diagnose students' health and physical fitness and operate customized programs linked to the curriculum. The number of schools will increase from 168 last year to 176 this year.

Last year, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education achieved positive changes in overall student health indicators through the operation of Health Promotion Schools, including a reduction in the number of students with low physical fitness, improvements in obesity rates, and changes in lifestyle habits.

Accordingly, in 2026, the Office plans to comprehensively support students' diverse health needs by integrating three areas: health promotion, physical fitness improvement, and healthy body shape management. In particular, the Office intends to encourage real changes in health behavior through educational activities that link physical education and health education, data-based physical fitness management, and personalized health management using artificial intelligence (AI).

In addition, student-led activities will be strengthened by focusing on student councils and clubs to enhance students' capacity for self-directed health management. School operation capabilities will also be reinforced through workshops, regional training sessions, and guidance and advisory activities by the Central Support Group.

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education plans to further strengthen integrated support for students' health and physical fitness through Health Promotion Schools and continue to expand personalized health management support.
