The design will cover a 17.7-kilometer section in the Shindorim-2 subdistrict area of Shindorim-dong. The entire project budget will be funded by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. The aim is to improve drainage capacity in response to abnormal weather events such as sudden heavy rainfall, as well as to prevent road subsidence accidents caused by aging sewer pipelines.

The district will incorporate Seoul’s enhanced disaster prevention performance targets into the service. It plans to increase the size of the sewer pipes to improve water flow capacity and will establish comprehensive drainage measures for areas at risk of flooding. The plan will also include measures to reduce sewer odor.

Once the design service is completed, the district will use the results to establish a maintenance plan and will proceed with construction in phases. Upon completion, the risk of flooding and ground subsidence during heavy rainfall will be reduced.

A Guro District official stated, "Since sewer pipelines are essential infrastructure closely related to residents’ daily lives, we will use this service to establish a systematic maintenance plan," adding, "We will do our utmost to create a safe urban environment where residents can live with peace of mind."
