The Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Provincial Election Commission of the Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) confirmed 11 candidates for metropolitan council seats in the Jeonbuk region for the June 3 nationwide local elections as of April 24, 2026.
According to the DPK Jeonbuk Provincial Party, the results of the second primary, announced on April 23, finalized candidates for metropolitan council electoral districts in two areas of Jeonju, two areas of Jeongeup, two areas of Namwon, and Jangsu County.
Specifically, the confirmed candidates are: Jang Yeonguk for the 4th electoral district of Jeonju; Song Jaeyoung for the 5th electoral district of Jeonju; Lim Seungsik for the 1st electoral district of Jeongeup; Eom Youngsun for the 2nd electoral district of Jeongeup; Yoon Jihong for the 1st electoral district of Namwon; Lim Jongmyeong for the 2nd electoral district of Namwon; and Jang Jeongbok for the electoral district of Jangsu.
Previously, the election commission selected Jin-an Jeon Yongtae, Imsil Park Jeonggyu, Sunchang Jang Seungpil, and Kim Jeonggang for the 2nd electoral district of Gochang as candidates through the first primary.
The election commission plans to conduct primaries for other metropolitan council electoral districts in the province once the electoral district boundaries are finalized.
