Suwon Nambu Fire Station Conducts Special Mountain Rescue Training at Chilbo Mountain

Suwon Nambu Fire Station in Gyeonggi Province is conducting a special rescue training session in the area around Chilbo Mountain in Suwon until April 24, in preparation for mountain accidents due to the increase in hikers during the spring season.

This training has been organized to strengthen the on-site response capabilities of rescue personnel in anticipation of various types of mountain accidents, including falls and being stranded.

The main components of the training include: ▲ mastering the use of mountain rescue equipment and conducting rescue drills; ▲ using drones to locate the subjects to be rescued and searching for missing persons; ▲ monitoring high-risk mountain accident areas and inspecting and maintaining the installation status of 20 mountain guide signboards; ▲ attaching QR codes of mountain safety maps to the mountain guide signboards.

Park Junghoon, Chief of Suwon Nambu Fire Station, stated, "As the weather gets warmer in the spring, more citizens visit the mountains, so extra caution is needed to prevent various safety accidents." He added, "We will do our best to ensure prompt rescue operations by continuing our training efforts."

Meanwhile, Suwon Nambu Fire Station urged hikers to always follow basic safety rules, including preparing simple first aid kits, wearing hiking boots, checking weather conditions, using designated hiking trails, and confirming mountain location signboards and national reference numbers.
