Just four days after eight children were killed in a shooting, another shooting incident has occurred in the U.S. state of Louisiana.
According to CNN on the 23rd (local time), a dispute escalated at the large shopping mall 'Mall of Louisiana' in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, leading to a shooting incident in which at least 10 people were injured.

원본보기 아이콘Thomas Morse Jr., Chief of the Baton Rouge Police Department, explained, "Two groups of people began arguing in the food court and then started shooting at each other," adding, "Unfortunately, some innocent bystanders nearby may also have been hit by bullets."
The Baton Rouge police chief added that some of the injured are undergoing surgery and that no fatalities have been reported as of now. Police are searching for one of the shooters who fled the scene, using a helicopter.
Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry also reported the incident, saying, "A shooting has occurred at the Mall of Louisiana," and urged residents to avoid the area. He also shared images of a large police presence deployed around the shopping mall.
CNN reported that the Mall of Louisiana, where the incident took place, opened in 1997 and is the largest mall in Louisiana.
According to the Associated Press, this is the second shooting incident following the recent tragedy in the same state. On the 19th, eight children under the age of 11 were killed in Shreveport, Louisiana. Seven of the victims were the children of the perpetrator, Shamar Elkins, 31, and the other was identified as a relative. Two adults, including the perpetrator's wife, were also seriously injured.
