With the deployment of a third U.S. aircraft carrier to the Middle East and renewed military tensions, all three major U.S. stock indexes closed lower on April 23 (local time).
On this day at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 0.36% from the previous trading session. The S&P 500, which focuses on large-cap stocks, ended down 0.41%, while the technology-heavy Nasdaq declined by 0.89% at the close.
