This year, 1,714 people passed the bar exam. The overall pass rate was 50.95%, which is lower than last year's rate of 52.28%.
On April 23, the Ministry of Justice announced that, after considering the opinions of the Bar Examination Management Committee, the Supreme Court, the Korean Bar Association, and the Law School Council, it had decided to pass 1,714 candidates who scored 889.11 points or higher out of a total of 3,364 test-takers for the 15th bar exam. This is 30 fewer than last year.
Among them, the first-time pass rate for the 15th cohort, who earned their law school master's degree this year, was 70.04%. The pass rate compared to the admission quota of 2,000 was 85.7%. The cumulative pass rate for those who used all five attempts allowed within five years of graduation was 88.43%.
This year, there were 26 test-takers with disabilities, including five with severe disabilities. The Ministry of Justice provided accommodations according to the type and degree of disability, such as extended test time, computers with voice support, voice-formatted test papers, and assigning dedicated proctors for fully blind candidates.
