The counseling is conducted as a one-time session to evaluate mental health status, led by experienced professionals such as psychiatrists and mental health specialists.
If ongoing support is needed after the initial counseling, the center offers a registration case management service, and, if necessary, helps connect individuals with local hospitals or community organizations to receive systematic support.
Additionally, the center's official website offers an online psychiatric counseling service. If citizens leave a counseling request online, a psychiatrist provides a direct response, allowing counseling to be received regardless of time or location.
The counseling service is completely free of charge and is available to all residents of Gwangmyeong City. Citizens who wish to receive counseling can make a reservation by calling the Gwangmyeong City Mental Health Welfare Center at 02-897-7787.
For those who wish to have in-depth counseling with a psychiatrist, either face-to-face or remotely, an online application can be submitted through the center's website.
Choi Hyemin, Acting Mayor (Vice Mayor) of Gwangmyeong, stated, "Emotional difficulties can happen to anyone, but with timely and professional help, full recovery is possible. We will continue to strengthen the mental health safety net so that every citizen can receive counseling and support whenever needed."
