The newly added celebration gift is the "Waguri Backpack". Parents can now choose between the previously provided "Waguri Attachment Doll" and the newly introduced "Waguri Backpack". The organic attachment doll helps with a child’s emotional stability and sleep habit formation, making it suitable for families who value emotional bonding. The Waguri Backpack is designed to hold simple baby items such as diapers and handkerchiefs, making it helpful for families who prioritize practicality.
Both items are made safely with KC-certified cotton material and feature a design based on the newborn version of Guri City's official character, Waguri, adding a friendly and adorable touch.
The city also plans to continue conducting preference surveys and further diversify the range of supported items in the future.
Parents or registrants can visit their local administrative welfare center to complete the birth registration, check the sample gifts displayed on site, select their preferred item, and receive it immediately. In addition, the city plans to sequentially distribute the gifts to households that missed out due to the project ending in 2025.
A Guri City official said, "We hope that the Birth Registration Celebration Gift will be a delightful first present for families with newborns," and added, "By respecting parents’ right to choose and diversifying the options, we will continue to do our best to provide effective support measures to make Guri a city where people find joy in having and raising children."
