Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital (Director Wansik Lee) announced on the 23rd that it held a ceremony to mark its 22nd anniversary under the slogan "Bloom Again" and presented its patient-centered vision for the future of healthcare.

원본보기 아이콘The event, held at the Future Hall of the Future Medical Innovation Center, was attended by Geunbae Lee, President of Chonnam National University, Jeongsin, Director of Chonnam National University Hospital, Hobum Lee, Deputy Mayor of Hwasun County, as well as heads of related organizations, executives, and staff members.
The ceremony proceeded with an introduction of guests, commemorative and congratulatory speeches, a seed planting performance, and awards. In particular, the seed planting performance under the theme "Planting Life, Nurturing Hope" received a great response for symbolically expressing the hospital's determination for a new leap forward.
This anniversary event not only celebrated the hospital's achievements over the past 22 years, but also reaffirmed its commitment to a new leap forward, drawing on experiences from COVID-19 and changes in the healthcare environment. The slogan "Bloom Again" encapsulates the hospital's aspiration to return to its essential values of patient-centered care, healing, and respect for life, paving the way for a new future.
Director Wansik Lee remarked in his commemorative speech, "The 22 years we have devoted to protecting lives mark yet another beginning. We will return to our original intentions, realize patient-centered values, and dedicate all our capabilities to the normalization of medical services and improving the quality of care."
President Geunbae Lee stated in his congratulatory address, "Over the past 22 years, Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital has grown into Korea's leading cancer specialist hospital, helping to resolve regional imbalances in healthcare. Now it is time to leap forward as the 'Asian Cancer Hub' through AI- and data-driven precision medicine." He added, "Chonnam National University will actively support the hospital's innovation and challenges."
Director Jeongsin of Chonnam National University Hospital commented, "Over the past 22 years, Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital has established itself as a leading cancer specialist institution in the region, overcoming crises as a united community with the main and branch hospitals. As the slogan 'Bloom Again' suggests, I hope the hospital will overcome adversity and take another leap forward, growing into a global center for cancer treatment based on precision medicine."
During the ceremony, awards were also presented to outstanding departments and staff who contributed to the hospital's advancement. The Digestive Disease Center, Central Support Team, Nutrition Team, and Public Relations Team were selected as outstanding departments.
Outstanding employees honored included Head Nurse Kim Yujeong from the Nursing Department, Deukchun Lim from the Department of Radiation Oncology, Yuchang Jeong from Internal Medicine, and Hongseok Yoon from the General Affairs Department of Chonnam National University Hospital. Externally, Gwangju Veterans Hospital received a plaque of appreciation.
