Four Northwestern Gyeongnam Counties Relaunch Symbol Contest for Provincial Sports Festival

Geochang-gun, Sancheong-gun, Hamyang-gun, and Hapcheon-gun-the four counties in northwestern Gyeongnam-are launching a re-bidding process for the symbol of the 66th Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Sports Festival, scheduled to be held in 2027.

This re-bidding aims to discover more sophisticated works by extending the original submission period, and to further enhance the symbolic nature of the festival and the regional identity.

In particular, the focus will be on selecting works that can effectively embody the spirit of sports-such as ‘harmony, mutual growth, effort, and challenge’-as well as the significance of the joint hosting of the event.

The contest covers three categories: the festival mark, mascot, and poster. All are representative symbols of the provincial sports festival. As the event is co-hosted by the four counties, a key evaluation criterion will be the harmonious visual expression of each region’s unique characteristics and the meaning of solidarity.

Anyone can participate, with no restrictions on eligibility, and submissions will be accepted until May 8, 2026. Detailed guidelines can be found on the official websites and public notices of each county.
